The Bishop of Copenhagen is Peter Skov-Jacobsen. Born in 1959, he graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a Master of Theology (cand.theol.) in 1993. He also lived for nine years in England, where he studied theology at the University of Hull and became a priest of the Danish Seamen’s Church in Hull. After returning to Denmark in 1998, he was appointed as parish priest of Holmen Church in Copenhagen. In 2009 he was elected Bishop of Copenhagen. In addition to his Christian vocation and work in Folkekirken, Peter Skov-Jacobsen’s areas of interest include social conditions, literature and European history.
