Sunday Jazz Services

How better to prepare for the week to come than attending our Sunday Jazz Services?

Every other Sunday we meet at 1 pm for our Sunday Jazz Service. It is Sunday Service with mass and singing of hymns.

The aim is to make sure you can walk out of church uplifted and strengthened to begin the week, with the Gospel, so to say, in your back pocket.

The sermons always try to take a point of departure in what is happening in our everyday lives, what is happening in Copenhagen, Denmark, Europe and the world today – and then we see it in the light of the Gospel text of the day.

We use the liturgy and readings of the Danish National Church. Our hymns are a mixture of Danish contemporary and traditional hymns as well as international hymns. The prayers, sermon and hymns are in English, with an occasional hymn in Danish. In this way we try to proclaim the Gospel in the vernacular of the internationals of Copenhagen – in a relevant fashion based on where we live currently, but yet united.

If you would like to sing a specific hymn, let us know. If you would like to do some of the readings, let us know.

When and where?

Every other Sunday at 1 pm.

Eliaskirken, Vesterbrogade 49, 1620 København V.
