Baptism
In baptism an adult or child is welcomed into the family of the church. Anyone who has not yet been baptized is heartily welcome to have a talk about baptism, as we also welcome all children who has not as yet been baptised.
The Danish National Church celebrates child baptism as part of our theology that we are baptised into God’s loving forgiveness and eternal life.
We have baptisms as part of our Sunday Services as well as special baptism services, where the main focus will be on the baptism. The Sunday Service baptism is a baptism as part of the life of the congregation. We are a very friendly community, so no need to worry about being part of the Sunday Service.
Also, if you have traditions associated with baptism from your home country, we have in the past found ways to incorporate that into the service, as well as having the creed – upon which we baptise – in several languages.
There is no charge for a baptism service: it is a gift of love and acceptance from a generous God. The baptism certificate will be in English and Danish.
If you have further questions, please contact pastor Maria at mabf@km.dk, and she will provide more information.
